Podcasts

11.22.21

Most operators are aware of MSHA’s Proposed Rule on mobile and powered haulage equipment at surface mines and surface areas of underground mines for both metal/non-metal and coal. We encouraged operators and trade associations to file comments regarding the rule – and they did! This podcast episode discusses the rulemaking process and what to expect in a final rule now that MSHA has over 40 comments on the proposed rule. We evaluate some of the more significant comments to the proposed rule and even drop a quick update regarding the nomination of an Assistant Secretary of Labor for MSHA.
