Memphis Attorneys Listed in 2015 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

MEMPHIS, TN (November 9, 2015) – Fisher Phillips today announced that two of its Memphis attorneys, Senior Counsel Jay Kiesewetter and Regional Managing Partner Jeff Weintraub, were selected for inclusion in the 2015 Mid-South Super Lawyers by their peers. Associate Courtney Leyes is also listed in Rising Stars for the second consecutive year.
Super Lawyers rates extraordinary lawyers, who have achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professional accomplishments, from more than 70 practice areas. The multiphase rating process combines independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations, with each candidate evaluated on 12 different indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selections are completed on an annual, state-by-state basis. The final published Super Lawyers list represents the top five percent of the lawyers in the state, and no more than 2.5 percent are named to Rising Stars.
Jay Kiesewetter was selected for inclusion in 2015 Mid-South Super Lawyers in the employment and labor law category. In his role as senior counsel, Kiesewetter devotes his practice to representing clients in the traditional areas of labor relations and employment law. He advises employers in all aspects of union-free management, as well as non-union companies facing organizing activity. Additionally, he represents employers in unfair labor practices and representational proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and the United States Courts of Appeals. Kiesewetter’s national recognitions include rankings with Chambers USA’s leading labor and employment attorneys and Mid-South Super Lawyers every year since 2007.
Jeff Weintraub was selected for inclusion in 2015 Mid-South Super Lawyers in the employment and labor law category. As managing partner with Fisher Phillips, Weintraub represents employers in jury trials and employment lawsuits, FLSA collective actions, labor cases and the like in all federal and state courts and agencies, various Courts of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. His national recognitions include rankings with Chambers USA’s leading labor and employment attorneys and Mid-South Super Lawyers, the latter of which he has been included in for 10 consecutive years. Weintraub was also recently appointed Chairman of the Small Business Council of the Greater Memphis Chamber.
Courtney Leyes was selected for inclusion in 2015 Mid-South Rising Stars in the employment litigation: defense category. In her role as associate, Leyes represents employers throughout the region with a particular focus on the burgeoning industrial areas in the northern part of Mississippi and the gaming industry in Tunica. She has experience representing employers in litigation related to discrimination and harassment in the workplace and on wage and hour issues. Additionally, she advises clients regarding a variety of employment matters, including employee handbooks and policies, severance agreements and other employee contracts.
