Greg Grisham has been designated by the Supreme Court of Tennessee to serve as a Hearing Committee member for the Board of Professional Responsibility for Disciplinary District IX (Shelby County). Greg will serve a three-year term, commencing on March 17, 2021 and expiring on March 16, 2024.
As a member of the Hearing Committee, Greg will assist the Board of Professional Responsibility (“the Board”) in its mission to assist the Tennessee Supreme Court in protecting the public from harm from unethical lawyers by administering the disciplinary process. When the Board authorizes formal disciplinary charges against an attorney, the matter gets referred to a Hearing Committee panel where volunteers like Greg will conduct proceedings similar to a trial, guided by the rules of evidence and civil procedure. At the conclusion of the proceedings, the Hearing Committee panel issues a written report and recommendation to the Board that then goes to the Tennessee Supreme Court for review and final action.
