Since the shooting last February in Parkland, many Florida schools have made changes to their policies and procedures to address safety, security, and to (hopefully) prevent violence. At the same time, students are speaking out more about societal issues, including racism and violence, sometimes leaving school without permission to join protests. The speakers will address these safety, security, and protest issues both from a practical and legal perspective.
