In an interview with Law360, Erik Laiho discusses his move to Fisher Phillips, where he joins a growing Labor Relations practice group in Portland, Oregon.
He shares with Law360 that he wanted to join the firm because of its strong reputation for defending management on labor issues. "When you get the opportunity to join the Fisher Phillips team, you join the Fisher Phillips team," said Erik.
Erik has represented employers through union campaigns, unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining, and labor arbitration, specifically for the construction and concrete industries. In the article, he also discusses organizing trends and explains that he is seeing a large demand from clients to understand what their rights are when their workforce decides to unionize. His best advice? “Proactively communicate with workers to understand their concerns and get advice on how to handle unionization campaigns.”
