Law360 Names Todd Scherwin 2019 Rising Star in Employment Law

LOS ANGELES, (September 10, 2019) – Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Los Angeles Managing Partner Todd Scherwin was recognized by Law360 as a 2019 Rising Star in Employment Law. The designation honors career accomplishments of attorneys under 40 whose legal accomplishments transcend their age. Todd was selected from over 1,300 submissions and was one of five attorneys selected for Employment Law. He joins 175 attorneys across the country honored in the 2019 class of Rising Stars.

Todd was honored for his U.S. Supreme Court win in Encino Motorcars v. Navarro, of which Todd tells Law360, “being able to work arm in arm with Paul Clement, one of the top, if not the top Supreme Court lawyer in the country was certainly a highlight of my career.” At issue in Encino was whether service advisors fit within the FLSA overtime exemption. The case was named one of Law360’s Biggest Employment Decisions of 2018 and the implications of the ruling extend to auto dealerships and employees nationwide.

Additionally, in his Rising Stars profile, Todd discusses his motivation for staying at Fisher Phillips throughout his entire career and performing at the top of his game.
