Law Week Colorado Taps Denver Partner to Discuss OSHA's Emergency Temporary Standard

News

7.07.21

In an interview with Law Week Colorado, Kristin White discusses the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) COVID-19 emergency temporary standard (ETS), which focuses on healthcare workers who are most at risk of contracting COVID. She warns healthcare employers not be caught off guard by the fact that the ETS requires covered facilities to conduct a hazard assessment and have a written plan to mitigate virus spread. Kristin also notes that employers should pay close attention to the new reporting and recording requirements because the ETS requires covered healthcare employers to maintain a log to record all cases in which an employee has COVID-19. And Kristin explains that this means healthcare employers will now need “a separate COVID-19 log for any positive case regardless of whether it’s a workplace exposure or not.”
