In an interview with Corporate Counsel, Workplace Safety Co-Chair Todd Logsdon provides valuable insights for employers operating during times of civil unrest. Todd explained that employers must make worker safety a top priority, and he reminds companies that the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) has a general duty clause mandating that “employers have to provide a safe workplace which is free from recognized hazards.” In the article he says that “[i]f a retail establishment is in the area where they know a protest is going to take place it is important to shut down before that happens.”
