Kristin White was named the 2020-2021 “Safety Professional of the Year” by the Colorado Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
The Safety Professional of the Year honor is awarded to an ASSP member who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the occupational safety and health (OSH) field while also advancing the OSH profession overall.
Kristin was recognized for her efforts as a member of Fisher Phillips’ COVID-19 Taskforce, a cross-disciplinary team of attorneys dedicated to advising employers on the many workplace issues related to the global pandemic and vaccines. During this time, Kristin took a lead role in advising employers on a wide variety of workplace safety-related issues ranging from the implementation of office mitigation measures to compliance with OSHA’s vaccine-or-test Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS). She became a go-to resource for employers trying to navigate the constantly changing guidance and keep their employees safe during unprecedented times.
Kristin regularly counsels and defends clients in regulatory workplace safety matters, and often acts as crisis management counsel for employers across all industries. She also advises employers with respect to their leave obligations concerning injured workers, and appears before governmental agencies, administrative boards, and various courts on behalf of her clients. She has made education and prevention a large part of her practice, presenting training programs and preparing written materials advising on health and safety topics under OSHA and the Mine Safety and Health Act (MSHA).
The announcement can be found in the Colorado Chapter’s May 2022 newsletter.
