In two interviews with Barron’s, Samantha Monsees talked about the process of businesses applying for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. One of the resulting articles describes that owners of qualified small businesses can apply through their bank or other lenders, and Samantha explained that “[t]he only reason why a small business would be denied is because they didn’t meet the eligibility criteria.” That article goes on to describe the eligibility requirements and mentions the resources available to small businesses who may need assistance. In the other resulting article, Samantha notes that businesses will be ineligible for PPP loans “if they are engaged in any activity that is illegal under federal, state, or local law.”
