Houston Partner’s Insights on Employers and Mandatory Vaccines Appear on News Stations Across the Country

In a televised interview with E.W. Scripps, Kevin Troutman appears on local news stations around the country discussing the hot topic of employers mandating COVID-19 vaccines in the workplace. The segment explains that employers are within their rights to require employees to get vaccinated, but Kevin also points out that employers must be aware that there are exceptions to such a such a mandate if an employee presents legitimate medical and/or religious reasons for not getting the vaccine. In those cases an employee can request an accommodation, and the employer must fully consider the request under the Americans With Disabilities Act and provide a reason why their vaccine requirement is necessary for the employee’s job.
