Healthcare Co-Chair, Houston Partner Explains Texas’ CMS COVID-19 Mandate in Inside Health Policy

In an Inside Health Policy article, Kevin Troutman discussed the impact of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that ruled that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) COVID-19 vaccine mandate is in line with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) mission. The CMS mandate is set to go into effect across the country after Texas – the state with a lawsuit over the regulation setting up the requirement – asked the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas to dismiss its case.

“This decision effectively recognizes that the lawsuit in Texas had become moot as a result of the Supreme Court’s decision to allow the CMS mandate to proceed across the rest of the country,” Kevin said.
