In an episode of the Passing Judgment podcast, Kevin Troutman discusses the topic of mandatory COVID-19 vaccines and whether an employer can require their employees to get vaccinated. The interview starts with a discussion about schools and whether colleges and universities can require faculty, staff, and students to get vaccinated before heading back to campus in the Fall. The discussion about schools and vaccines continues before shifting gears to a conversation about workplaces in general and whether employers can mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for their employees. Kevin explains that – in almost all cases – employers can require the vaccine, but they must make allowances for religious and medical exemptions. The podcast continues with Kevin touching on ways employers can incentivize the vaccine and a discussion of how important it is for employers to communicate with their employees and educate them on the facts in an effort to make them more comfortable and willing to receive the vaccine.
