Fourth Thursday Advanced Webinar Series – Assessing Risk: What to Ask Before Discharging an Employee
Event
10.27.22
2:00 PM — 2:30 PM CST
Every time an employer involuntarily discharges an employee, there is a risk to the business of an employment related claim. Identifying the claims that might arise and analyzing the evidence that might support them is a critical step in the discharge process. There are times when HR needs to push back on a decision because, even if the discharge is warranted, it can be made to look discriminatory or retaliatory. Even terminations for issues such as theft and harassment have resulted in jury awards for employees. A business must understand the risks of a discharge to weigh them against the need to separate an employee. This webinar will address how to identify the risks and when a business might want to identify a different path forward.
