Fourth Thursday Advanced HR Webinar Series – Politics in the Workplace: How to Handle

Event

5.25.23
2:00 PM — 2:30 PM CDT

There is an age old adage not to bring up politics at the dinner table because political discussions have a tendency to become heated. The increasing polarization of political views in America, a common subject of news reports, commentary, and even comedians, potentially exacerbates the problem. The last thing a workplace needs is added tension and stress from employees arguing about debating presidential candidates or the last Supreme Court decision. But employers often seem fearful of policing such discussions.

This session will discuss an employer’s rights regarding employee political speech to prevent the acrimoniousness and hostility it can engender.

The firm will be submitting this program for HRCI and SHRM credits.
