ATLANTA, GA (February 21, 2013) – Six attorneys with Atlanta-based Fisher Phillips are listed in Georgia Super Lawyers 2013, while five of the firm’s attorneys have been named “Rising Stars.”
D. Albert Brannen, Howard Mavity, Thomas Rebel, Joseph Shelton and John Thompson are listed for their work in employment and labor law and Kim Thompson was included for her work in immigration law.
Five attorneys are listed in “Rising Stars.” They are: Tiffani Hiudt Casey, Matthew Simpson and Terri Stewart, listed for for employment and labor law, and Of Counsel Michael Elkon for his work in employment litigation work on behalf of employers.
Georgia’s top lawyers are chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics magazine. Attorneys are selected on an annual basis using a comprehensive, multiphase rating process. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Rising Stars undergo the same rigorous selection process, but are not evaluated by peers in their practice area. A candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.
The top five percent of Georgia attorneys are chosen to be included in Super Lawyers. Atlanta magazine and Georgia Super Lawyers, while 2.5 percent of the state’s lawyers are named Rising Stars. The list is published in March and is designed to serve as a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for clients seeking legal counsel.
