Anurita Varma Joins Office’s Expanding Employment Litigation Team

Fisher Phillips, one of the country’s preeminent labor and employment law firms representing employers, is pleased to announce that Anurita Varma has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Irvine office.
Anurita is a skilled litigator with a background from a large national law firm where she focused her practice on high-profile, complex civil litigation. She was most recently at a high stakes litigation firm where she defended companies against class action and PAGA wage-and-hour disputes, and other employment-related claims involving discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.
At Fisher Phillips, Anurita will represent employers through all stages of workplace-related litigation, from providing counseling and advice to pre-litigation negotiations, and all the way through trial. And, in addition to providing litigation counsel, Anurita will help employers of all sizes prevent workplace disputes by developing training and compliance programs on topics including interviewing and hiring, performance management, discrimination, and harassment. She will also draft and negotiate executive business formation agreements, employment contracts, and policies impacting the employment relationship.
Anurita is active in her community and currently serves on the Professional Development Committee of the Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law, which is a collaborative effort of professionals committed to achieving cultural diversity in the legal profession. She has served as the Executive Director of The Indus Entrepreneurs, an organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship within the South Asian community. She was also a member of Girls, Inc., an organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring girls to be smart, strong, and bold, and Women Helping Women an organization that provides unemployed women with the skills and resources necessary to secure employment.
Anurita earned her law degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law where she was Senior Interview Editor of the Business Law Journal and Judge Recruitment Chair on the Moot Court Board. And she earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
