Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Matthew Wallin has joined the firm as Partner in the Woodland Hills, California office.
A seasoned litigator, Matt brings extensive experience in employment law, representing private businesses and public entities across growing industries in California, including construction, manufacturing, technology, and healthcare. His practice focuses on a wide range of employment matters, including representing employers against claims related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and workplace violence. Matt also provides strategic counsel to clients on policies, employee handbooks, and compliance with complex state and federal laws, including disability and wage regulations. Matt has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts, as well as before key administrative bodies such as the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the California Department of Industrial Relations. Notably, he successfully argued the appellate matter Wassman v. South Orange County Community College District (2018).
"We are thrilled to welcome Matt to the team," said Nicole Golob, Regional Managing Partner of Fisher Phillips’ Woodland Hills office. "His understanding of the current litigation climate for employers and his successful track record in both trial and appellate courts will be a tremendous asset to our clients. As California continues to lead the nation in complex employment regulations and evolving workplace laws, the demand for experienced, strategic employment defense counsel has never been higher. His addition enhances our litigation capabilities and reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting the growing needs of our clients across the state and particularly in the San Fernando Valley.”
Matt joins a growing team of employment litigators who have joined in offices across the country. The firm recently added partners Ron Brand in Irvine, California, Joseph Mendes in Boston, Rassa Ahmadi and Katie Custer in Denver, Cheryl Blount and Emily Harbison in Houston, James “J.T.” Holt in Pittsburgh, and Gregory Hendershott in Seattle to expand the firm’s high-stakes litigation team.
