Fisher Phillips Welcomes Gregory Zerzan

Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Gregory Zerzan has joined as Of Counsel and plans to split his time between the firm’s Dallas and Washington, D.C. offices.

With more than 20 years of public and regulatory policy experience, Zerzan will serve as Senior Advisor of Government Relations and Communications as an integral part of the firm’s Government Relations Practice Group. He has held several prominent roles in public service including his most recent appointment as Principal Deputy Solicitor of the United States Department of the Interior. In this position, Zerzan directed legal efforts in areas including energy development, access to public lands, environmental reform, and tribal relations. Previously, Zerzan was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States Treasury and has also served as counsel to three different Congressional committees.

In the private sector, Zerzan has been Counsel and Head of Global Public Policy for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Director at an American multinational conglomerate corporation, and a shareholder at a full-service business law firm. And, most recently, Zerzan served as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of an industry-leading, publicly traded energy company committed to providing clean, reliable, and affordable fuel.

Zerzan arrives on the heels of Senior Government Affairs Analyst, Braden Lawes, who joined the firm’s Government Relations Practice Group in February. They are both part of a growing bi-coastal team that combines the full resources of a preeminent labor and employment law firm with proven public affairs know-how to help companies foresee, understand, and navigate new laws and regulations impacting the workplace.

Zerzan earned his J.D. from the Willamette University College of Law and his B.A. in Political Science from Willamette University. He has also served as a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Australia School of Law and is a thought leader and frequent speaker on matters of law and regulatory policy at conferences, trade associations, and on network television.
