Fisher Phillips, one of the country’s preeminent labor and employment law firms representing employers, is pleased to announce that Francis Wilson has joined the firm as an associate in the Denver office.
Francis was most recently a litigator at one of the big four labor and employment law firms, where he defended employers in workplace disputes with an emphasis on matters involving restrictive covenants and trade secrets. He has also defended businesses in a wide variety of other employment law matters involving allegations of harassment and discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, violations of the Equal Pay Act, workers’ compensation and unemployment issues, and the False Claims Act.
At Fisher Phillips, Francis will work closely with the firm’s Employee Defection and Trade Secrets (EDTS) Practice Group representing employers in restrictive covenant and trade secrets matters in state and federal court. Francis will craft and help implement robust frameworks to anticipate, prevent, and detect employee theft, and he will be ready to prosecute and defend companies in contentious restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation. Additionally, Francis will assist Fisher Phillips’ Sports Industry Group, representing and advising collegiate and professional sports organizations on various employment-related matters. Francis represents several professional sports athletes and assists them with employment matters involving their own employees (e.g., personal trainers, domestic service workers). Francis will also partner with clients of all sizes to prevent workplace disputes through the development and implementation of protective measures, including employment contracts, supervisor manuals, employee handbooks, and training and compliance programming.
Francis earned his J.D. from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University while working full-time at a non-profit national defense think tank, where he led investigations into allegations of employee misconduct; created and delivered mandatory employee trainings; led several compliance programs; drafted separation, non-disclosure, and other agreements; and helped the company successfully defend against employment litigation. Prior to law school, Francis worked as a financial consultant at a Big Four accounting firm, where he assisted financial institution clients with a variety of compliance, audit, risk management, and process improvement projects.
