Fisher Phillips Welcomes Chelsea Whelan in San Francisco

Fisher Phillips, one of the country’s preeminent labor and employment law firms representing employers, is pleased to announce that Chelsea Whelan has joined the firm as an associate in the San Francisco office.
With a decade of experience, Chelsea has represented both employees and employers in a range of areas, including whistleblower, harassment, discrimination, misclassification and wage and hour claims. At her most recent firm, she worked exclusively on the management-side of employment litigation and counseling, which included independently conducting investigations and preparing position statements in response to DFEH, ELSE, EEOC and NLRB complaints, and start-to-finish litigation encompassing liability analysis, litigation budgets, settlement strategy, written discovery, trial preparation and mediation. Chelsea also counsels and assists employers on issues including business formation, employment practices such as terminations, reductions in force, leave analyses and COVID-related compliance issues.
Chelsea earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California at Berkley. Prior to her work as an attorney, she was a judicial extern for Judge Saundra Brown Armstrong of the U. S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
