ATLANTA, GA (May 12, 2008) - The Partners at Fisher Phillips have re-elected Thomas P. Rebel to the firm's Management Committee. Mr. Rebel has served on the Management Committee for nine years and has been with the firm for 30 years. His new term begins June 1, 2008. Fisher Phillips is one of the largest labor and employment law firms in the United States.
Mr. Rebel, a partner in the firm, serves on the Management Committee with Charles Caulkins and Roger Quillen. The committee, chaired by Mr. Quillen, serves as a board of directors for the 19-office labor and employment law firm. Each member is elected to a three year term in staggered elections.
Mr. Rebel said, "I am honored that my colleagues have selected me to serve another three years on the Management Committee. Our leadership team shares a strong commitment to grow the firm and continue to provide our clients with the type of counsel and assistance they have come accustomed to receiving from our attorneys."
Mr. Quillen added, "Tom is an integral part of our firm's management and has been instrumental in helping us to grow nationally. The firm and our clients benefit from his experience and vision. I anticipate another three years of growth and superior client service as Tom continues his important leadership role."
Since 1978, Mr. Rebel has represented employers nationally in labor and employment law matters. A partner, he works in both the firm's Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale offices. He practices extensively in the areas of wage and hour, affirmative action, education and disability law. Mr. Rebel has also handled many National Labor Relations Act matters, including representation and unfair labor practice cases, and matters arising under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. He is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, he has authored articles on preemption under ERISA, and he was co-editor of a compendium of labor and employment articles for the National Association of College and University Attorneys. He is a frequent lecturer to industry groups on various labor and employment topics. Mr. Rebel has been selected as a "Georgia Super Lawyer, Labor and Employment" since 2004.
Mr. Rebel is admitted to the Bars of Georgia and Florida. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1978. He earned three other degrees from the University of Miami: a Master of Education, magna cum laude, in 1974; a Master of Science, magna cum laude, in 1973; and a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in 1969.
