TAMPA, FL (December 23, 2011) - Steve Bernstein, partner in the Tampa office of Fisher Phillips, was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. In addition to providing guidance to the growing organization, Bernstein will chair the 2012 Benchmarking Visit to Baltimore.
Bernstein has more than 20 years of experience as a labor and employment attorney. He represents employers nationally in state and federal courts, and before the National Labor Relations Board, U.S. Department of Labor, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other agencies. Bernstein has played a primary role in advising employers in representation cases, unfair labor practice charges, corporate campaigns, collective bargaining, and economic work stoppages.
Bernstein has been listed by the Labor Relations Institute as one of the "Top 100 Labor Attorneys" in the U.S. since 2006. Actively involved in the community, he is a member of The University of Tampa Board of Fellows, Propeller Club - Port of Tampa, and Academy of Florida Management Attorneys.
The 11 new Chamber directors were recognized in front of more than 650 attendees at the organization's Annual Meeting on December 15, 2011. Bernstein's term begins January 1, 2012 and concludes December 31, 2014.
