In interviews with The Houston Chronicle and Reuters, Kevin Troutman weighs in on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's ban on COVID-19 vaccine mandates. In the Chronicle, Kevin argues that the conflicting federal and state rules only complicates matters for employers. “It creates uncertainty, which makes it more difficult for companies to plan. You can take the low-risk approach, and do more testing than you would have had to do before this executive order, but it costs more money.” Similarly, in the Reuters interview, Kevin says that employers may try to comply with both orders. "It could make the option of testing something more employers want to consider and implement more widely. It requires more planning and attention and it creates more headaches."
