In an interview with NJBiz, Phillip Bauknight explains how employers can navigate the state’s indoor mask mandate and the CDC’s updated guidance suggesting that vaccinated people, in most circumstances, do not have to wear face coverings indoors. He explains that employers can require masks to stay on in the workplace, which might be the lowest-risk option for employers. But, he adds, businesses that do not keep the workplace free of known COVID-related hazards or run afoul of an employee’s religious right to refuse the vaccine could face legal repercussions.
