Fisher Phillips Partner Comments on New York’s New Draft Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy

In the New York Law Journal article “NY Releases New Draft Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy for Employers,” Melissa Osipoff discusses the new model policy and the potential implications for employers. The draft of the model sexual harassment prevention policy is the result of legislation that was passed in April of 2018, requiring all companies to implement a sexual harassment prevention policy and sexual harassment prevention training. 

Melissa explains that in the past, companies have been unorganized when it comes to sexual harassment training for employers. Some companies conduct sexual harassment training and others neglect to do so. Melissa urges employers to review and use the draft documents to start thinking about what they will have to do in order to comply with the final result of the sexual harassment prevention policy.
