Fisher Phillips Lawyer Explains Families First Coronavirus Response Act

Tiffani Greene recently spoke with North Carolina Lawyers Weekly about The Families First Coronavirus Response Act, or FFCRA, which became law on March 18 and provides many workers with paid sick leave if they need to take time off work because of COVID-19.
Tiffani noted that the DOL has clarified that the law also doesn’t apply to employees who work for businesses that have had to cease operations as a result of the virus (although those workers will be able to get some relief from the parts of the law related to unemployment insurance). She said, “This is really geared toward businesses that are up and running and are really trying and able to stay as close to normal as possible.”
