Fisher Phillips, one of the country’s preeminent labor and employment law firms representing employers, is pleased to announce the addition of two attorneys in the Cleveland office. Komlavi Atsou joins as partner and Nicholas Anhold joins as an associate.
With more than a decade of experience, Komlavi represents closely-held businesses, non-profit organizations, public agencies, and universities in a wide range of employment matters and defends them in related federal and state court litigation, as well as arbitration. He has extensive experience with Title VII, The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family Medical Leave Act, Equal Pay Act, the Ohio Whistleblower Act, non-compete, and personnel issues. Komlavi also has a strong record defending corporate and public entities against class actions and representing clients before the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC) and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.
From 2011 to 2015, while in private practice, Komlavi served as a hearing officer for the Cuyahoga County Personnel Review Commission, where he adjudicated employment appeals filed by county employees. He also served as an assistant attorney general with the Office of the Ohio Attorney General, Employment Law section. Komlavi earned his J.D. and L.L.M. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his Master of Laws (Civil Law) from the University of Benin.
Nicholas’s practice focuses on complex business, employment, and professional liability disputes. Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Nick focused on complex business, employment, and professional liability disputes, and advised attorneys in disciplinary and grievance proceedings, at a Cleveland-based litigation firm. He has extensive experience in briefing and oral argument and has achieved successful results in mediation.
Nicholas earned his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University and his B.A. from Rice University. While in law school, Nick clerked for the Hon. K.J. Montgomery of the Shaker Heights Municipal Court and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Global Business Law Review.
