Fisher Phillips Columbia Attorney Earns 2018 Women of Influence and On the Rise Honors

COLUMBIA, SC (June 26, 2018) – Fisher Phillips announced Sheila M. Willis, a labor and employment attorney in the firm’s Columbia office has been named to the list of 2018 Women of Influence by the Columbia Regional Business Report, and she will also receive the On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers Award from the American Bar Association (ABA) Young Lawyers Division.

The Columbia Regional Business Report’s annual Women of Influence list honors women in the Columbia area who are pacesetters in their respective industries as well as community leaders, working toward the betterment of the Midlands region. Each year, Columbia area business professionals nominate their peers for this prestigious list. Candidates then are chosen by a panel of judges.
Sheila was recognized among the Women of Influence for her work in labor and employment law, leadership roles in industry organizations, including acting as president of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association and president-elect of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division, and her active role in the local community through the Junior League of Columbia. The 2018 Women of Influence will be honored at a luncheon on Aug. 9, 2018, at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 2100 Bush River Road.
Each year, the On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers award seeks to recognize young lawyers who exemplify a broad range of professional and personal achievement, innovation, vision, leadership and community service. The peer-nominated recognition is carefully selected by a committee of practicing attorneys in private practice and in-house positions. Nominees are judged on their experience skill and character.
Sheila received her law and undergraduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. As an attorney at Fisher Phillips, she represents employers in a variety of labor and employment matters, providing advice and counsel on employment discrimination and pay equity, as well as litigating employment matters in federal and state court. Sheila serves on the board of directors for the Columbia Society for Human Resource Management and is an active member in the Richland County Bar Association and American Bar Association.
