In an interview with SHRM, Aymara Ledezma shares some insight on what California employers need to watch as federal COVID-19-related guidelines relax but the state’s workplaces remain subject to various local rules. Aymara explains that Cal/OSHA is expected to make changes to its Emergency Temporary Standards and employers should be on the lookout for those new rules. While CDC guidance is important to stay on top of, she says, in California, HR should ensure that it is on top of any changes to state and local orders and guidelines and Cal/OSHA's requirements as well. "A good rule of thumb is that employers must generally follow the most restrictive requirements for their workplace," Aymara adds.
