Fisher Phillips Attorney Elected to Executive Committee of South Carolina Chamber

COLUMBIA, SC (December 9, 2010) - Fisher Phillips, announced that Cheryl Behymer, a partner in the Columbia office, has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce for 2010-11. This election follows Behymer's continuing contributions to the business community as Chair of the S.C. Diversity Council, a committee of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce.
"It's an honor for me to find new ways of sharing a diverse perspective with the South Carolina business community and supporting the strategic management of diversity in the workplace, especially as we come together to navigate a path out of the recession," said Behymer.
Behymer's practice focuses on providing timely and practical counsel and training in affirmative action compliance, diversity management, workplace harassment, immigration compliance, employee leave issues involving the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other labor and employment issues. She also defends employers in single and multi-plaintiff lawsuits, including class actions based on Title VII and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, as well as in Fair Labor Standards Act collective actions.
The Chamber's Executive Committee is a select group of members from the Board of Directors, which govern the operations of the Chamber. The South Carolina represents more than 18,000 businesses across the state.
