Fisher Phillips Attorney Comments on How Minimum Wage Increase Will Affect Missouri Employers

In the November 2018 midterm election, Missouri voters passed a new minimum wage statute called Proposition B, which requires employers to pay close attention to how the law changes during the next five years. In a Kansas City Business Journal article and for an interview with Nation’s Restaurant News, Samantha Monsees explains what the state’s new minimum wage means for employers. She says: “Employers need to make sure any lawful deductions they take from pay, like garnishments, doesn’t dip employee pay below the minimum wage. You also need to be mindful of impact to overtime pay.”
