Fisher Phillips Attorney Addresses Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Bill

On July 1, Massachusetts businesses will be required to start paying the state to fund a new paid family and medical leave program for their employees, part of the “grand bargain” legislation passed on Beacon Hill this summer. Boston attorney Joshua Nadreau spoke with the Boston Business Journal about how any last-minute changes to this bill could affect employer’s payroll systems in a big way. He told reporters, “If past is prologue with administration regulations, they tend to come very near the deadline or after the deadline.”
