LAS VEGAS, NV (April 14, 2016) – Fisher Phillips and the City of Las Vegas are continuing their mission to help local businesses.
On May 26, Fisher Phillips, a management-side labor and employment law firm, and the City of Las Vegas, are presenting a free seminar, “I’m Sick and Tired: ‘Leave’ Me Alone!.” The program takes place from 9-11 a.m. inside the Las Vegas City Hall Achievement Room, 495 S. This presentation is part of the 2016 Human Resources Academy, a series of free seminars aimed at helping local businesses deal with real-life workplace issues that have serious legal consequences. This is the fifth seminar in the series, and the final session is scheduled for June 23. It will focus on how to protect your company when faced with an audit from the government. Located in the Bank of America Plaza at 300 S. 4th St., Fisher Phillips is a prominent, national labor and employment law firm that focuses its practice on the representation of employers in all aspects of labor law, employment law, employee benefits and business immigration.
“We know these free sessions will be a valuable help to our local business people, especially those starting new, smaller ventures,” said city of Las Vegas Chief Financial Officer Mark R. Vincent. “We are very glad to be able to partner with Fisher Phillips in providing these first-rate seminars.”
All Human Resources Academy programs are approved for HRCI and SHRM recertification credit, and all attendees will receive proof of attendance certificates. May’s presentation will help attendees deal with absentee issues in the workplace, including tardiness, sick days, vacation days, leaves of absence and self-diagnosed mental health days.
Attendees do not need to attend prior sessions to be able to come to any of the 2016 Human Resources Academy seminars.
“Our previous sessions have been successful in helping the Las Vegas business community, and we’re looking forward to helping with the all-too-familiar issue of absenteeism. Our attorneys are engaging with local business owners, and we hope our businesses here will be stronger and more prepared to deal with everyday issues after completion of the academy,” said Mark Ricciardi, Fisher Phillips Regional Managing Partner.
Fisher Phillips attorneys assist clients in the areas of employment discrimination and harassment, labor arbitration, collective bargaining, retaliation and wrongful termination claims, severance agreements, wage and hour law, union avoidance, union campaigns and elections, and OSHA inspections and litigation.
