Fisher Phillips Adds Two Employment Litigators in Fort Lauderdale

Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers, announces the addition of Garrett Kamen and Megan Janes as litigation associates in its Fort Lauderdale office.

Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Garrett was a litigation associate with two international law firms and most recently served as senior litigating counsel in the New York City Law Department’s Labor & Employment Division. While there, he defended the City of New York, the New York City Department of Education, and NYC Health + Hospitals against single-plaintiff and class/collective claims in federal and state court; counseled on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; and conducted training sessions for clients regarding best practices for complying with those laws

Garrett earned his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland. He was a member of the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal.

Before joining Fisher Phillips, Megan was a litigation associate at a South Florida law firm where she focused her practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation and employment law. The commercial litigation side of her practice encompassed complex business disputes, as well as high-value fraud and corporate misconduct claims, in both state and federal court. Megan’s employment law practice is well-rounded, running the gamut from contentious non-compete litigation involving trade secrets, concealed solicitation, and injunctive relief to lawsuits and EEOC claims involving issues like Title VII discrimination and Family Medical Leave Act claims.

Megan earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminology from the University of Florida. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida.
