Employees often use cell phones for work or personal business while driving.
Until 2001, no state had a law regulating the use of cell phones while driving. New York began the tidal wave of legislation related to the use of cell phones while driving, and now all but a few states have at least some limits on cell phone use or texting.
According to Jennifer, only about half of all employers have a policy directing employees to use hands-free devices and prohibiting them from texting while driving.
