Employees are increasingly suing employers for being fired over marijuana use. San Diego partner Danielle Moore recently spoke with Law360 on the increasing pressure on companies as more state legalize cannabis in various forms – and build in more protections for employees. She talks about how employers who had historically strict anti-drug policies are considering liberalizing their stances on marijuana to reduce litigation. “Each business now, this is the time, they have to look at their business needs and perform a closer look at what they’re going to do about cannabis,” Moore said.
