In an interview with SHRM, Phillip Bauknight discusses the legal constraints employers should consider before paying employees in cryptocurrency. "Some states require wages to be paid in U.S. currency," Phillip says. Employers should consider paying an employee’s salary in U.S. currency, adding, "Any cryptocurrency payment program for the remaining wages should be optional and authorized in writing by the employee.”
