COVID-Era Changes to Labor Law Practices Likely Sticking Around Says Labor Relations Co-Chair

In an interview with Law360, Todd Lyon discusses how the pandemic shaped new work habits, including virtual meetings, that may have a permanent place in the labor law practice. Todd suggests that employers may see a rising trend in mail ballots as well as Zoom bargaining which allows for more frequent meetings without the hassle of travel. He does note the downside of some of these changes. Of Zoom bargaining, he notes “it is harder to judge subtle nonverbal cues when a negotiating partner is confined to a box on a computer screen instead of sitting in a chair across the table.”
