In an interview with Law360, Usama Kahf shares his insight on the emergence of more stringent privacy protections in California now that employee and business-to-business data is within the scope of the state's privacy law. Usama points out that a lot of employers may be in for a “rude awakening” as they try to figure out how to comply with the new restrictions. He explains that “in the employment context, they have more nuanced legal obligations, and it's more complicated."
