The article, “Clashes Could Force Lyft, Drivers to Scrap Class-Action Settlement,” featured in Corporate Counsel, discussed how Lyft is hoping to move on from a class-action lawsuit challenging the employment status of its drivers, but questions from a federal judge on Thursday may force the company back to the drawing board.

Todd Scherwin provided his take on the case.

Chhabria is likely to issue a decision within a few weeks, but extensive questions regarding the settlement suggest that “back to the table is the most likely outcome,” said Todd.

“The more questions the judge has, the more likely it is that this thing is not going to get approved,” he said. “We’ll be talking about this again in a few weeks, and probably again in a few months.”
