Charlotte Partner Travis Vance recently spoke with Commercial Carrier Journal regarding the logistics surrounding truck drivers reporting symptoms of, or testing positive for, COVID-19 while on the road. Travis encourages fleets to get drivers – if they are showing symptoms – home and out of the truck as soon as possible to avoid interaction with customers and cargo.
On the topic of notifying anyone an infected driver may have interacted with, Travis says there is not much legal guidance, but err on the side of transparency. “It’s kind of uncharted territory. But it’s about doing the right thing,” he said.
