Charlotte Attorneys Contemplate Possible Appointees for the FMSHRC

With the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission (FMSHRC) down to four out of five members, and two more leaving on August 30, 2018, the commission awaits the current presidential administration’s appointments. In the S&P Global Market Intelligence article “Without Trump Picks, Mine Safety Oversight Body Will Soon Lack Quorum,” attorneys Travis Vance and David Klass contemplate who the administration might appoint to fill the vacant positions in the FMSHRC.
The Charlotte attorneys said they would not be surprised if the current administration selects former coal officials or executives, a move that would be consistent with their pick for the head of the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration.
