Boston Partner Discusses CROWN Act and Black Hair Bias Laws with Bloomberg Law

Josh Nadreau recently spoke with Bloomberg Law on what employers need to know about the growing trend of hair bias laws. 18 states have passed CROWN Acts which ban race-related hair discrimination, with Massachusetts being the latest to enact such laws. Josh explains that hair bias laws create the potential for more discrimination claims and that employers in retail and hospitality may see a bigger impact. He recommends that employers review their dress code policies to be sure they aren’t defining race-related hairstyles and textures as unacceptable in their workplace.
