The U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that California’s wage and hours laws do not apply to workers who work on offshore drilling rigs. In an interview with Business Insurance, Seattle attorney Ryan Jones said: “Not only is the ruling specific to the oil industry, it is specific to the 9th Circuit and to a “fairly narrow” federal enclave doctrine, which makes it difficult to determine its impact.”
