In an interview with Portable Plants, Edwin Foulke discusses the uptick of OSHA inspections and the fact that he expects the agency to come become even more aggressive in the coming year. He explains how the Biden administration has become much tougher on OSHA regulations. "It has enlarged its staff of inspectors, ramped up enforcement activity, and heightened penalty amounts." As a result, Ed recommends that employers should be prepared and he discusses the importance of ongoing monitoring, stating that supervisors should walk the floor during the workday, not only checking the production line but also making sure people are not violating safety rules. "Are they wearing their personal protective gear? Working the equipment properly? The supervisor should fill out a form that records what inspections were done and what remedial actions were taken when violations were identified."
