Are You Ready? WA Paid Family Medical Leave 1/1/2019
Are you ready? Beginning January 1, 2019, all employers must start collecting employee premiums to meet the first phase of Washington’s Paid Family and Medical Leave program for any employee based in Washington, regardless of the employer’s size. Most employers must also pay an employer’s share. Are you prepared to collect and pay these premiums, or have you applied to the state for approval for your own voluntary plan? What other compliance steps must you take before the end of 2019, and how can you proactively prepare for 2020? What are the costs if you fail to collect the premiums or follow the law’s other requirements? What about other leave laws, including the FMLA and paid sick leave? What are an employer’s duties?
Join Fisher Phillips attorneys Catharine Morisset and Gulsah Senol for a webinar that will answer these questions and more regarding this new mandatory paid leave benefit program.
Please contact Jackie Greenbaum at jgreenbaum@fisherphillips.com with questions about the webinar.
This program has been submitted for SHRM and HRCI credits.
