Tacoma has joined the Washington state cities of Seattle and SeaTac to enact its own mandatory paid sick and safe leave law for all employers with any employees working within its city limits. Unfortunately, one size does not fit all. Tacoma’s law has its own use, carryover, accrual, and notice requirements, along with its own compliance pitfalls for the unprepared employer.
