In their article published by the Philadelphia Business Journal, Kelsey Beerer and Luke McDaniels detail the city’s new law banning pre-employment marijuana testing and outline steps employers should take for compliance. They note specifics of the law, including it’s exceptions for positions that require a commercial driver’s license, law enforcement, and those that require the supervision of children, medical patients or other vulnerable individuals. For those employers who must comply, Kelsey and Luke recommend they get a head start on educating internal HR professionals and others involved in the hiring process.
