In an article published by Law.com, Risa Boerner shared her perspective on Connecticut’s newly enacted Artificial Intelligence Responsibility and Transparency Act. Risa noted that employers with operations in multiple states face particular risk as state laws governing AI in employment decisions continue to vary in their provisions. She also emphasized that conducting bias audits is a best practice even where not legally required, explaining that doing so puts employers “in a position to be able to best defend a potential lawsuit for alleged discrimination and the use of the AI tool”.
